Pretax strengthens its position in northern Finland
Economica joins Pretax
Pretax, Finland's largest financial management services company, continues to grow. Economica is to join Pretax at the beginning of 2007.
Founded in 1985, Economica is the largest financial management and payroll processing services provider in the Province of Lapland, with offices in Rovaniemi, Oulu, Kemi, Tornio and Helsinki. Its 42 employees will be transferred to Pretax as 'old employees'.
Economica client businesses vary from one-man operations to companies, corporations and local authorities employing hundreds of people. Economica is particularly well versed in the financial management of the hotel and restaurant sector.
"This transaction represents a major step for Pretax, consolidating our position in northern Finland. Pretax already has a strong hotel and restaurant sector service, and this will be further improved by the addition of Economica," says Ari Kelloniemi, Managing Director of Pretax Accounting.
According to Yrjö Trög, Managing Director of Economica, the merger is a natural extension of the development that the company has been pursuing for years. "We already have a good range of services and products, but Pretax brings the benefits of a large company in the digitalization, outsourcing and development of services. This cooperation enables us to help our customers better to respond to future challenges."
Trög will continue as Managing Director of Economica, and he will also become a shareholder in Pretax. He will further assume the responsibilities of Pretax Regional Manager for northern Finland.
