Mepco joining the Pretax Group
Significant strategic benefits for both parties
Mepco is joining Pretax, the largest financial management and payroll processing services company in Northern Europe. In Finland, Mepco is the leading software house in its field. At the same time, it has been arranged that Pretax shall later have the right to purchase the rest of Mepco's shares. The company's founders will all continue to be the shareholders with Markku Pekkola as Managing Director.
With its international marketing name Accountor Group Pretax offers compre-hensive financial management services, including accounting, purchase- and sales invoice handling, and payroll and travel expense claims processing in addition to documentation and supervision for all sizes of companies in eight countries: Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, Germany, Russia and Ukraine on its own auspices and in the UK and the Baltic nations through its partners.
Mepco's net sales increased in 2009 to a total of 7 million euros and business profit rose to 230,000 euros. Mepco operates in Helsinki, Tampere and Turku, and employs 70 people.
Mepco has three business areas, all of which are in a strong position and have developed favourably.
1) Mepco's salary and HR management systems have succeeded well over the last few years. They represent a new generation way of thinking, based on solid experience without any historicla burden. Pretax selected Mepco.s software in summer 2009 as the future platform to its own outsourcing ser-vices.
Merger will increase the user base of Mepco.s programs substantially and provide a better foundation for the development of Mepco.s salary and HR software as stand-alone solutions, for production of outsourcing services, and for bookkeeping agency use. .In salary and HR systems, large user base, up-to-date tools and a solution free of historical burden are all important. Mepco.s salary and HR solutions represent, also in this respect, one of the strongest solutions for the Nordic countries,. Johan Brandrup-Wognsen, Country Manager for the Pretax companies in Sweden, declares.
2) In customer relationship management systems Mepco is a significant do-mestic operator, whose service provision is strongly consultation-based. Mepco.s list of customer references is impressive. Pretax has just started a project with Mepco whose aim is to create an international CRM system for the corporation. Along with the merger, the client interface for the enter-prises is set to expand, and it is possible to develop the offering also in the direction of outsourcing services.
"Customer relationship management is, for each and every company, at least as important as financial administration . though traditionally it has been a function consciously conceived only by large businesses. Our pur-pose is to search for new operational models for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises. CRM, and we believe that our international clientele, compriseing almost 15,000 companies, will quickly be able to utilize Mepco's service offering," Pretax's Finnish Country Manager Outi Lähteenmäki-Lindman states.
3) With regard to enterprise resource planning systems, Mepco has focused on specialist companies and financial administration solutions. Pretax, on its part, produces financial management outsourcing services for several fields of business in many countries. Both parties have chosen as their cen-tral development platform Dynamics AX offered by Microsoft and are cer-tified software specialists. Mepco was the only company from Finland se-lected to join the distinguished Microsoft Dynamics Inner Circle Club in November 2009. .This alliance offers the parties significant opportunities for mutual service development,. says Markku Pekkola, Managing Direc-tor for Mepco.
